Pulau Tioman, Malaysia – In a remarkable display of unity and shared passion for the underwater world, NAUI members and divers from Malaysia and Singapore gathered for the first-ever NAUI Malaysia & Singapore Dive-Together. This inaugural event, hosted by NAUI Platinum Pro Dive Destination; Tioman Reef Divers, owned by the dedicated husband-and-wife team; Reeno Chew (NAUI #12852L) and Akemi, marked the beginning of what promises to be an exciting annual tradition.
Discovering Tioman
Pulau Tioman, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and vibrant marine life, served as the perfect backdrop for this event. Located off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Tioman is a haven for divers, offering crystal-clear waters, colorful coral reefs, and an abundance of marine species. A Dive into History
This year’s highlight was an extraordinary dive at a recent addition to Tioman’s underwater attractions—a submerged LRT train, transformed into an artificial reef. This unique dive site not only adds a touch of history and intrigue to the underwater landscape but also contributes to marine conservation efforts by providing new habitats for marine life. Exploring the submerged train was an unforgettable experience, sparking excitement and curiosity among the divers.
